Welcome to the sesame street farm where the grubs chew letters into the produce:) I was washing veggies for my CSA and discovered the letter "e" gnawed into one of my chinese radishes! I took it on a photo shoot with the interns of LLF and gave the radish a nice Up-do, Erica Badu style.
Hello there customers! So sorry, I've been out of touch and not even blogging, I had to move this weekend plus water the farm all day each day...we need rain!!But I'm back:) and so are LOTS of beautiful veggies. Here's what I think...I'm going to pick the veggies, pack them into serving size quantities, and bring the goodies to Muddy Waters by 4pm on Thursday. When you arrive, you choose 4 items from the lot and away you go!! If you would like extra, bring some cash-ola and shop away!!
That last email was a little murky, sorry:) Let's recap!!
Okay, this thursday pick up at Muddy Waters between 4pm and 6pm
I will make your bags for you this week with a little bit of everything that is coming out of the garden. There will be flower bouquets available for sale for $5.00.
There will be some extra vegetables available for purchase. Cardmembers, I'll make bags for you too and then you can put back items or swap out what you would like or not like. I just don't want you to miss anything:)
I'm going to have to ask you all a favor.... I need you all to go outside tonight and do a funky rain dance, please!! The watering saga continues, but this will be my 10 mile walk to school in the snow story someday, and I know it will all work out:) But if it rained it would work out a whole lot better!
Thank you so much for understanding about last week and for your very sweet emails:) I'm gonna make it up to you this week.
We have melons, peppers, eggplant, cukes, summer squash, beans, tomatoes, and then either greens, edible flwers, herb medley or some sunberries. If anyone wants to swap out eggplant or beans for turnips or radish, please let me know! And cardmembers, just send me your order so I can pack for you:) Bringing the flower mixes and sunflwers too!!
Same time, same place. I bring veggies, you choose! It's hot and mid summer, so it's the usual suspects, eggplant, tomatoes and cukes, and a box of surprises to choose from:)
Hope you all are staying cool! Oh, and figpickin tomorrow evening @ 5. Also, if you ever feel the need to connect with the land, I'm out at the farm from 830-12 and then 4pm til 630(at least) everyday if you want to plant or weed with me:)
How about that beautiful weekend? I sure did need that, just as a reminder that it can be very pleasant to be outside working when it's cooler than 120 degrees!! Just gorgeous, hope you all were out and about and enjoying.
