Hello there my people!

Okay, this is how I see this season playing out, the theme is easy breezy lemon squeezy. A you choose, free-will CSA.

The rules are, well very relaxed and honor code like. I feel like we decided to commit to 10 to 12 dollars of produce per week for 10 to 12 weeks. Now, we may end up only going for 9 weeks due to the late start, but we will just have to see. I think that the mindset should be that you have about 10/12 bucks in your pocket, you're heading into the store for veggies and you can choose to buy 3 or 4 different vegetables ( flowers or herbs) depending on what your week looks like. I'm not going to divide the produce into price brackets, just sending out the availability of product. It's up to you to shop according to what you might like, not depending on price. I'm not going to keep track of how much you bought either. The choices might be limited at first and then will grow with the garden. You will always have the option to choose up to 4 items, and if the season gets cut short, we will raise it to 5 items. Sound good?

I just kind of want to get our little CSA started....so, if you would like any of these items, please email me back by Wednesday around noon.

Week number one at Dirthugger Farm can provide you with the following:

a lil baggie of edible flowers

braising green mix of kale, turnip greens, rapini greens, collard greens etc

beautiful chinese radishes of brilliant green and pink

a basil medley of lime, lemon, holy, dark purple and genovese basil . You may specify as to one flavor of basil, or just go with a mix:)

and dill

and coming soon...baby turnips, lettuce, beans(they are blooming), cut flowers, hope to see more squash, cukes, eggplant,tomatoes and peppers too!

I don't really have enough yet to where I can set up a farm stand, so for you Dirthuggin Card Holders, maybe place an order as well, or just wait. Also, maybe we can schedule pick up time at the church for 430 to 6pm for the first week or so. Let me know if this pickup time is not going to work for you...or to offer suggestions as to a better time, until we can get our little James Island Market started. Maybe a Muddy Waters pick up for now...:) I'll ask first!!

Hi!

I'm sorry if my last letter led to confusion. Basically, each week I will send an availability for what's coming out of the garden. you will be able to choose anywhere from 3-5 veggies from that list for the CSA and email me as to your choices. I'll pack'm up and have them ready for you on the thursday of that same week. For this first CSA, the choices are limited, but the variety will grow as the season progresses. The pick up point for this week will be the Muddy Waters on James Island between 430 and 6pm, May 26th.

If I have not heard from you, I will just try to harvest enough to cover everyone. There will be some items that I have not listed that are ready, but only in small quantities, a surprise veggie or flower! Everyone who picks up will get to choose from the surprise cooler of produce:)

If you cannot make it, no worries, there will be more coming next week!

I thank you all again, and I know that all the crinkles will smooth out as we work together this first season!
